September 2005: People were stranded because no 24hr taxi company was in existance. Acar was formed to be resposive to the needs of an active community. Several corporate, business, hotel and private people with a great demand for reliable, dependable 24 hour taxi service.
A nice gentleman neighbor named Mr. George Hanna said, "I hear you are starting a taxi company? What kind of cars will you be using." I said, "I don't know, small ones I guess, ones good on gas." and He said, "I don't think I'd be comfortable in a small car, why don't you get nice big cars?" I said, "We are just getting started and can't afford big cars." Mr. Hanna said, "You pick out nice big cars and I'll buy em for you. The only thing I want in return is for you to take good care of everyone in our community."
So began the ACAR TOWN CAR TAXI Company. With drivers from the local fire department, people are thrilled the drivers know where they are going and the best routes to take avoiding traffic. Safety is always first and people can relax and concentrate on their business or good times with No Worries.
We are dedicated to serve the public trust with dependable service to all. It shouldn't be difficult just to get a nice ride in such a beautiful place.
The ACAR name was originally created to be listed first in the phone book, by driver Randy Cockerham. But, one day, a person went to the front desk of the hotel and said, "I need A Car to take me to the airport." With which the front desk person replied, "No problem, I have ACAR's number right here."
We didn't mean to have a play on words, but we sure are glad it worked out that way. It took one year to get properly Licensed and from September 2005 to September 2006, we've been growing quickly in popularity ever since. Trying to make sure we keep our standards high, we've been taking careful steps along the way, to ensure that each increase in busniess is prudent to the public good. It's the best time ever for us all. Everyone here loves the business, the people and the fulfillment of providing a desparate need for transportation 24/7.
